Roll the Dice

if you’re going to try, go all the
way.
otherwise, don’t even start.

if you’re going to try, go all the
way.
this could mean losing girlfriends,
wives, relatives, jobs and
maybe your mind.

go all the way.
it could mean not eating for 3 or 4 days.
it could mean freezing on a
park bench.
it could mean jail,
it could mean derision,
mockery,
isolation.
isolation is the gift,
all the others are a test of your
endurance, of
how much you really want to
do it.
and you’ll do it
despite rejection and the worst odds
and it will be better than
anything else
you can imagine.

if you’re going to try,
go all the way.
there is no other feeling like
that.
you will be alone with the gods
and the nights will flame with
fire.

do it, do it, do it.
do it.

all the way
all the way.

you will ride life straight to
perfect laughter, its
the only good fight
there is.

To facebook or blog, that IS the question...

Someone recently stated that blogging for photographers was dead and that energy should be geared towards social networking, i.e., facebook and twitter to name the most popular. In my very humble opinion I adamantly disagree. I do believe that facebook and twitter are awesome components to networking a photography business, but I also believe that it is essential that one maintains their identity and brand via blogging. In the vast arena that is social networking it's easy to get lost amongst the shuffle. How does one differentiate oneself on facebook? I don't have the answer, but I do know that facebook in itself is a brand, a social networking brand and I do believe one day it will be replaced just like myspace. Remember them? So for now, I'll keep with the troika, my blog, facebook and twitter. And as time goes by, my blog will always be here.

By the way, I added some images to my facebook portfolio and updated my website portfolio, below are couple from a recent trip to South Dakota. Got to keep up....

best,
